THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE AGENT OF REGENERATION--Part Two

In John 3;8, our Lord compares Regeneration to the wind.

Now, let's look at some of the characteristics of the wind.
Number 1--IT IS NOT ACCOUNTABLE TO MAN.

The Wind doesn't act, according to Man's Beckoning.
It flows through The World freely; it answers to no creature.

Number 2--IT IS IRRESISTIBLE IN ITS WORK.
It blesses some, and destroys others. The same wind that brings down rain in one place, drives the clouds away, and causes drought in another area--
Psalm 147;18; Proverbs 25;23--[Turn].

Number 3--IT IS INCAPABLE OF BEING COMPREHENDED.
Some things about the wind defy all human comprehension;
although they can't be comprehended, they can be apprehended, because the evidence of their
existence, can clearly be seen.

Number 4--IT IS IMPERCEPTIBLE TO THE EYE--
Romans 1;19-20--''Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath
shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse;''

Number 5--IT IS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL TO MAN'S EXISTENCE.
If a dead calm were to continue, all living things would die-Revelation 7;1-3--[Turn].

The Atmosphere is an envelopment of air, that enwraps our Globe, and gets lighter and thinner, until it gradually disappears 40-50 miles from the earth's surface.

It's the only element, in which man can live.

As water stagnates, so will air.

God in His providential dealings, makes sure the wind never stays perfectly still.

Number 6--IT HAS LIFE-GIVING PROPERTIES--The Physician knows it.

Number 7--IT WORKS WITH, AND WITHOUT MEANS
Without Means--Tornado
With means of water--Hurricane.

The Wind is an emblem of the Holy Spirit--His influences are vital, sovereign, and mysterious--
Genesis 1;2; 2;7; Psalm 104;30--[Turn].

Ezekiel 37;8-10-''And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above; but there was no breath in them. Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wins, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind; thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds. O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.
